smelly cat.

If you know what my title is a reference to..you rock!
Well, you rock anyway. :)

I had been wanting to try Zoya Nail Polish for a while, so I finally ordered one of her polishes with my bloom.com purchase. SO HAPPY I DID!

I ordered Phoebe, a "Bright azure with fine electric blue and violet shimmer with a velvety matte finish. The matte finish amplifies the bright color; this is a matte that positively glows" (zoya.com).

Pictures don't do this beauty justice!

A very versatile blue, the perfect pop of color for summer. My wardrobe palate consist of a lot of darker colors, or white, so this shade spices up my look perfectly.

It's very easy to apply, feels velvety smooth to the touch, and does wear longer than some other Matte formulas out there.

Zoya's Phoebe can be purchased here: Zoya Phoebe Nail Polish
at $8 a bottle, very affordable! A great formula, excellent wear, no foul odors, and a GORGEOUS shade of blue.

About Matte Nail Polish

Matte Nail Polish color by Zoya is intended to be worn with a base coat, but not a top coat or speed dryer of any kind. Due to the unique matte Zoya Matte Nail Polish color is not as long-wearing as traditional nail color. A completely clean, dry nail surface yields the best results for matte nail color wear. For best results make sure to always prepare nail with Zoya Remove (3-in-1 nail polish remover, nail plate cleaner and new color prep) prior to applying color" (zoya.com)

VERY HAPPY CUSTOMER! :D
I will be back...

follow the yellow brick road.

Summer classes. They run your life.

ANYWAYS!!

I ordered some more goodies from Deborah Lippman:
http://lippmanncollection.com/2011dl/index_new.php

I was SO stoked when i saw Yellow Brick Road. The Wizard of Oz is one of my favorite films, so the fact that Deborah and her camp are keeping up with that whole theme [I have yet to try Ruby Red Slippers..which is next on my list!] really makes me smile.

I placed my order for Yellow Brick Road and Soul Mission.

I am IN LOVE with Yellow Brick Road! It is THE PERFECT summer shade. It's not as bright as it looks on the net, it's a more mellowed-out, subtle, sheer, and SCRUMPTIOUS yellow. It wears well with pretty much everything, and this formula holds up particularly nice. I am so glad I bought it! This will be this blogger's go-to summer shade. You should DEFINITELY check it out!! :)

I already knew Deborah Lippmann was a total nail goddess and lovely person, but they totally made my week when I opened up my package and saw they shared a treat with me.. my FAVORITE top coat out there!!  On A Clear Day is the perfect top coat. It really extends the life of your manicure/nail polish, it is the only top coat I use whether I am wearing one of the Lippmann hues or not.

ON A CLEAR DAY<br>ultra-glossy top coat

This ultra-glossy top coat protects your manicure with a chip-resistant formula and a UV inhibitor so polish does not discolor or fade. For best results, allow nail color to dry, then apply a thin coat.
- Formulated with an ultra violet light inhibitor to prevent yellowing of whites and soft pinks, and discoloring of darker shades
- Leaves nails with a glossy, high shine finish
- Apply every two to three days to extend the life of manicure

Alright guys and dolls..I really hope you will check out these awesome products for yourself, you won't be disappointed!!

colors of the week.

Finals hell=over. Moving on.

New feature: my nail obsessions of the week.

Currently rocking: Deborah Lippmann's Waking Up in Vegas. A perfect putty gray. GaGa goes gaga over it. One of my favorites. Gray is the new black [in regards to nails anyways]. I find myself wearing a lot more gray lately [in clothing] too though.

Weird. Anyways, Deborah's formulas stay on for DAYS and DAYS. Looks like a pro manicure. If you haven't tried her potions yet, go for it. The Stripper is fantastic too.

This smells AH-mazing. It's nail polish remover that ZAPS polish off super quick and has a relaxing scent. What more could a girl short on time ask for?

Yes, The Lippman Collection comes with a little bit a of a price tag, but if I have learned anything in life [thus far] YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. I'm a Lippmann convert and will pay whatever for her products, and apparently so will a lot of other people. :) [I only say that because I was just on her site and several of her products are completely sold out, YOU GO GIRL!!]

Cool Hand Blue.

If you know what movie reference I'm using in my title, you're awesome!!

Okay, you're awesome anyway.

So, I'm a mascara junkie, but I am also a nail polish junkie, in the worst possible way. Wherever I go, I always manage to find nail polish. I prefer my nail polish to be heavy chemical-free. Formaldehyde is for dead people, not my nails.

One of my favorite "clean" nail polish brands is Essie. They have some of the most gorgeous and vibrant hues as well. The price point is very fair as well. You get a high quality formulation for relatively little bank.

My current Essie obsession? smooth sailing. essie.com describes this shade as "a breezy lavender blue with a reflection of pearl", and I must admit, that is right on point!!

It definitely looks more blue when on the nail, but as with most polishes, it looks different in different lighting.

[see photo below for what I am talking about.]

I think the second photo is a more true depiction of what the color really looks like.
Regardless, it's a gorgeous color! I typically do two coats of polish, and this particular shade lasted me about five days without needing a touch up or reapplication. This color is perfect for breezy summer days at the beach, and is equally as elegant for a fun night out on the town with friends, or even a date night! I am very happy with this shade, and other Essie shades, and at about $8 a pop where can you go wrong?

Have you used Essie? What's your favorite Essie shade? Let me know!!
